Art as Resistance
How do we navigate these uncertain times?
That was a question that came up during a mastermind meeting with my friends, artist Elinor Trier, and musician Valerie Day. We started talking about art and its role in our society, and how it can serve as a powerful act of resistance, healing, and renewal.
So we decided to expand the conversation into a webinar!
On June 6, 2025, we shared personal stories, explored cutting-edge insights from neuroscience, and offered compelling perspectives on art's profound role in navigating difficult times. Watch the free replay of the webinar and discover how creative expression serves not only as activism but as essential self-care, helping us move from fear to freedom, from isolation to connection, from despair to hope.
Simply register (it’s free) and you’ll get immediate access to the replay.
Inspirational Words
Valerie shared a few words from an artist she met at a graduation ceremony. Everyone loved it and asked for it to be shared here as well:
"Comics are not going to save the world. But to build a better world, we must first imagine it. And cartoonists – well, we're known for our imaginations. It is profoundly encouraging to look around at this bleak hellscape of a timeline, and to see that artists are still making art, and storytellers are still telling stories. We are here, and we are not giving up. We are still tending the sparks of joy, of rage, and of resistance.
Wherever you go from here, this is my ask: find what lights you up, and do it. Do it boldly, do it imperfectly, and do it with your whole heart. Rest when you're tired, ask for help when you need it, and give generously from your own abundance.
Your creative voice is a treasure; when you share it, it becomes a light in a dark world, illuminating truth or hope or grief or humor or fear or courage: humanity, yours and mine and ours together.”
About the Speakers
Kerstin Martin is an online business educator and late-bloomer solopreneur who built a successful internet business with only a small audience and no ads. As a neurodivergent HSP, she is passionate about teaching overwhelmed solopreneurs how to manage, grow, and scale calm and profitable businesses without the hustle. Kerstin believes in acting from a place of integrity and kindness to build a business that fuels a joyful, rich, and grounded life.
Elinor Trier is a neuroqueer AuDHD artist, writer, podcaster, YouTuber, dopamine dealer, and founder of Elinor Trier Studio and Zuzu’s Haus of Cats, where she creates artwork that celebrates ‘otherness’, reminding you that you're not the 'odd one out', you're 'one of a kind’. Elinor’s artwork is in private collections worldwide, and her ideas have been featured in multiple media outlets, including the Nautilus Silver Award-winning book Creatrix: She Who Makes. Elinor reads ten books a week (the only hint of savant-ism her autism has given her), snorts when she laughs (it’s adorable!), and might actually be a pile of cats in a sparkly trench coat.
