Great News! Squarespace finally (finally!) introduced the ability to duplicate blog posts! This has been such a longstanding request and I love that Squarespace do listen to their users, it's one of the reasons I love them so much. You can read more about the new feature right here, basically this is what you can duplicate now:

  • Blog posts

  • Events

  • Regular Pages

  • Products

  • Cover Pages

  • Album tracks

  • Gallery images

  • Gallery videos

The one I am most excited about is the ability to duplicate blog posts. Why? Because you can create a template for your posts and just duplicate it every time you write a new post. If you, for instance, prefer a certain layout with image and text blocks, simply build it and save as a draft and duplicate as needed. Same for blog footer content:

  • add a summary block with recent or related (using categories and/or tags) posts

  • add any links you always want to include with your posts

  • add a newsletter sign-up form

  • add products

You could even save multiple templates for each of the blog categories you write about, the possibilities are endless! As you add more blog posts your template will be pushed down the list but you can always easily find it by simply clicking on the Draft tab:

My only word of caution: don’t overdo it. Just because you can doesn’t mean you should cram as much as possible into a post now. Be focussed and specific, don’t overwhelm your readers with features.
